Route Details

  1. There is parking for a few cars where the bridleway meets the minor road out of Bwlch. Head uphill onto open moorland, easier once you reach the ridge, and climb to the summit of Mynydd Llangorse.
  2. Continue north, descending the ridge, almost to the road.
  3. Double back to the left and follow singletrack around the hill, eventually dropping down to the road.
  4. Head south and turn off right, to take a lane up to the narrow ridge of Allt yr Esgair. This can be a stream when wet. Continue down the steeper north ridge, back to the road.
  5. Follow roads and a short section of bridleway back to the foot of Cockit Hill.
  6. Push up, branching left before the summit, to start descending.
  7. Turn left and drop steeply into Cwm Sorgwm before contouring back and up to where you were just a short time ago. Push up again, but this time retrace your original route, back over the summit and down across Cefn Moel, before branching right, to the cairn.
  8. Enjoy the final steeper descent into Bwlch, before a gentle climb on the road, back to the car.
